Introduction
Welcome to the Step By Step Corporate Wellness Challenge training program!
This program is designed for an office or project team to use to increase the sense of wellness
within the work environment, create a common fitness goal for all, increase morale and camaraderie
between teammates and provide a fun and interactive way to educate and inspire others to be fit
and healthy. The materials outlined in the program should prepare walkers and runners to complete
the Natiownide Better Health Corporate Wellness 5K, ½ or full marathons at the beginner, intermediate
and advanced levels.
One or two people need to assume the ‘team captain’ role and lead up the effort. As team captain, the
time commitment is minimal (less than an hr a week).
This ‘toolkit’ has everything you need for successful implementation. You do not need to have any experience
facilitating a training program. All you need is the passion, energy and a little bit of time to manage your
group! Even with a written training program to follow, new runners will have numerous questions. Therefore,
it is suggested that, ideally, each team have a somewhat experienced walker or runner as an accessible point
of contact.
