Swimming - Something Different
If you're interested in a different activity from running or walking that keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off of your body - try Swimming! Kicking workouts, water aerobics, pool running, or a regular swimming workout can all give you a great exercise session without the weight of your body pounding you with each move.

Regular swimming builds endurance, muscle strength and cardio-vascular fitness. It can serve as a cross-training element to your regular step by step workouts. Swimming also burn about 3 calories a mile per pound of bodyweight!

See ya in the pool!

Intermediate Running Group - June 23, 2009
Several people from the intermediate group met around 4:30 pm at the northern end of the Olentangy Bike Trail (Hill's Market) and ran 7 miles after work. Ran South on the trail to Antrim Lake, around the Lake and then back up the trail. A little hot but fun mixing it up with the bikers, inliners, and other runners and walkers.

If interested in running with the intermediate group shoot me an email at craigthompson@columbusmarathon.com. The avg pace of the intermediate group is 7:30-8:00 min/mile pace and 4-6 miles per run.

Happy Trails!
